Sue

Owner/Finance/Human Resources

As the head of “anything to do with money”, Sue has always been drawn to the black and white aspects of accounting, viewing it as a logic puzzle asking to be solved. Sue enjoys problem solving, connecting dots, and performing business analysis. She can wrangle any spreadsheet and her biggest joy is when the bottom line balances to the penny. She was self taught and now has over three and a half decades of account and finance experience under her belt. Sue feels a deep responsibility to her colleagues, channeling her maternal instincts, in an effort to ensure that everyone at Vogue is treated fairly and possess every benefit and opportunity. Day to day you can find her playing tennis, watching tennis, spending time with her (tennis) friends, baking, taking care of her family, and obsessing over her granddaughters, Quincey and Birdie.

Steve W

Head Builder

As the Head Builder, master carpenter Steve leads and mentors with a passion for the craft and focus on quality and structure. With over three decades of woodworking experience, Steve spearheads every engineering and technical challenge thrown his way. Steve has been with Vogue since 1992 and has extensive knowledge in engineering and building from the ground up, on site installation, on site field measuring, and fabrication techniques and efficiencies. He and his wife are the proud parents of two sons and a daughter, and Steve loves to spend his free time fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending quality time with his family. Not to mention, if you’re looking for some local tapped Maple syrup, he’s your guy!

Steve K

Project Manager

As a Project Manager, Steve works closely with designers, builders, architects, homeowners, and tradespeople from initial inception through installation. In addition to his artistic and mechanical ability, Steve is the consummate project manager, professionally communicating and interacting with all of parts of a construction and design team. His ability to convey and disseminate project information is unmatched. He keeps our office up to date on the latest design programs and has a brilliant eye when it comes to scale, proportion, and layout. His computer generated renderings are considered works of art. He holds a degree in Architecture from Lawrence Tech University and has had a love for architecture, drafting, and design since high school. In his spare time, Steve enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, and spending time with his wife, son and daughter.

Jim

General Shop Foreman

As the General Shop Foreman, Jim uses his lifelong industry experience to guide Vogue’s building department, press department and installation department while overseeing over 25 employees and influencing Vogue’s strategic direction. Jim started working with Vogue’s founder, Greg, when he was 14 years old through a middle school shop apprenticeship program, beginning their lifelong working relationship and friendship. Jim’s passion for finishing became his career when he started painting antique cars, many of which won 1st place awards at car shows around the country. His expertise is completely self-taught and he initiated the consistent upward evolution of Vogue’s finishes. Exiting the finishing department in 2011, Jim assumed the General Shop Foreman position and out of everyone at Vogue, Jim takes the most pride in the growth and accomplishments of the company. In his limited free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and working on his father’s antique cars.

Greg

Founder/Owner/Lead Designer

Greg’s interest in woodworking began in a modern Yamasaki designed middle school woodshop. There, Greg gained an appreciation and understanding of the beautiful shapes and forms that can be hidden within a natural piece of wood. Greg founded Vogue Furniture in 1977 and over the past 45 + years, he has retained that initial passion, consistently exploring the extraordinary opportunities that can exist in a blank space. He leads with a “no limits” attitude, focusing on continuous improvement with the end goal of always exceeding our client’s expectations in design, quality and service. His dedication to the design community extends beyond Vogue, where he proudly serves on the Board of Governors of the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Come weekends, you’ll catch Greg running, skiing, sailing, spending time with family and maybe even doing karaoke with a martini in hand...

Eric

Lead Project Manager

As a Project Manager, Eric oversees our AutoCAD operators while also working closely with designers, builders, architects, homeowners, and tradespeople, approaching each project holistically from initial inception all the way through installation, sincerely treating each client as if their project is the most important he is working on. Eric has an impressive track record when it comes to management, design, engineering, drafting, acting as our office IT guy and overall Vogue problem solver. Nine times out of ten, if you have a project related question, Eric will possess the answer. Eric holds a degree in Industrial Design from Wayne State University and prior to joining Vogue in 2006, Eric spent 6 years in rough and finish carpentry. When he’s not wearing one of his many hats at Vogue, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and adorable dog, Sadie. He’s a cycle, food, and La Croix enthusiast and will take you up on any culinary adventure.

About Vogue Furniture

We are a team of craftspeople, designers, architects and visionaries. We place quality artistry and service ahead of everything else in our drive to do things differently and better.

Our Process

OUR DNA

Imagine a time with no internet. No cellphones or tablets. No Instagrams or tweets. That’s where our story began. It’s where our DNA to do things differently was created. Born from the union of knowledgeable hands and a restless imagination, our philosophy is both old school and simple. To this day, that same strand of tumultuous and imaginative DNA is woven throughout our team of managers, designers and craftspeople. We remain motivated by continuously evolving; testing our skills and pushing the envelope on everything we create.

As a family run company founded by lead designer Greg Bartelt, Vogue is led by strong ideals that have remained at our core for forty years and this entrepreneurial spirit continues to resonate through the culture of the organization. Passion driven by craft. It’s our way of achieving pride in workmanship and superior results that are lacking elsewhere today.

not a factory

Our purpose is deliberate – to deliver woodwork that is unparalleled in our industry and design something meaningful in our world. Something that you can see, touch and feel. As you walk through our 45,000 facility, you’ll notice a lack of robotic assembly lines or computer-controlled machinery. Instead, you’ll see an inviting and collaborative workspace featuring custom, individual workspaces for our managers, designers, artists and craftspeople who build projects from start to finish.

no limits

With no limits in materials, technique, scale or style, we preserve our unique integration of technology and tradition that stand the test of time. Our personal design services are unique, collaborative and include delivering hand drawn and photorealistic renderings as part of the thoughtful design process. Our craftspeople and artists are ready to create your furniture, custom millwork, and metalwork featuring sustainable materials from around the world, including exclusive finishes from Italy. Finally, our project managers are stewards for your build from start to finish and ensure a product delivered on time and on budget. It’s time to break the mold and make your space as individual as you. We are Vogue Furniture.
